The Movie:
DOT.COM (2007, 100 min), by Luís Galvão Teles – presents a humorous tale of a small Portuguese village and their legal fight with a giant Spanish multinational corporation.
Águas Altas, a small village in Portugal is being sued by a Spanish multinational corporation because the village hosts a website that uses the same name as an international brand of mineral water. A judicial battle for the website begins that quickly turns into a media circus. The residents of this small village, who are not even sure what the internet is, are forced to defend their website and their village’s honor. (Portuguese with English subtitles).
